Harry Adams is the pseudonym used to present the collaborative work of Adam Wood and Steve Lowe.
These two artists have worked together over many years creating a body of work that they choose to present with a singular authorial voice. This work has included music, performance, photography, collage and montage, printmaking, graphic art and crockery, but Harry Adams has focused almost entirely on making paintings since 2008 whilst also collaborating closely with Billy Childish on making and curating the International Art Hate Archive since 2009.
The process of collaboration is central to Harry Adams - one that elicits joint venture, common spirit and camaraderie, whilst both allowing and submerging the individual artists' egos and personal expression. Some paintings are undertaken individually, others are painted together or in turns, and the resulting works, steeped in the traditions of mark and picture making, are an ongoing commitment to the search for significance within this tradition.
They are represented by L-13 and Isis Gallery in the UK, Art&Space Gallery in Munich, Galleria Alessandra Bonomo in Rome, and Poalo Curti & Annamaria Gambuzzi in Milan.
The Harry Adams prints, monoprints and paintings here are exclusively available from Artstar and form part of a collaboration between Artstar and the L-13 Light Industrial Workshop, London in which we present an exclusive, and rare, collection of works of contemporary art by Harry Adams, James Cauty and Billy Childish.
